1) The methods used by the Head and by Mathieu are very different. The Head believes in an action - reaction method. That means that every action has its consequence, the students have to “pay” for everything they do and there is no compassion or forgiveness. On the other hand, Mathieu tries to create a relation with the kids and so he do not tell the Head what problems they created but instead they give them voluntary works or he asks them to behave properly.
2)Mathieu and the head of the school both deal with punishment in a very different way. We think that Mathieu´s way is much better because he deals with the students and he finally finds a way to create a relationship between him and the students, without using violence as the head of the school did. Also, the students are learning and enjoying at the same time, something essential in the apprenticeship.
3)Mondains runaway from school because the methoths that were used in that school were too much even for him, that came from a worst school. In a way its shown that he was scared of it.
4) The professor implemented the chorus because, although he was a music teacher, he wanted to be able to connect with the kids. He wanted to know the best quality of every child and teach them, not only how to sing, but also how to work in groups, how to interact and be educated, to be honest
and respectful. To let them get along and to work in a group in which everyone had their differences.
5) The school where students went was so repressive that kids revolutionize and cause chaos in it so what they receive was punishment. When Mathieu appear and propose the chorus students had freedom of speech and such a big relation with him that it decrease the chaos by this independence it is like they were released of that exploited system.
6) A state of internet describes the movie as “A music teacher takes a position at a boy’s reformatory full of orphans and young criminals, and decides to reform them through songs.” We, on the other hand, sees it as a different way. The teacher arrives as a music tutor, at a place where he didn't know the rules and punishment. He starts realizing through his state, that part of the reason children were mean, tried to escape every single time, were on their own although they had a lot of kids just like them around them was due to the bad education. Children were punished left alone in a dungeon, at the dark, they were hit, slapped and sometimes they let the vulnerable ones of the group starve to death.
What the teacher start to implement is the stop of bad punishment. He treated them as their kids. He just used the chorus to unite them and to bond them. He was using the singing just for calm and order. In a way of psychoanalysis. If the kids were bad, he warned them, he didn't punch them. He helped them in the tests, he gave them all their confidence and was just like a father to them, leaving aside the bad treatment and the shouting. He played with them and tried to minimize the tricks, he was little by little making them better persons.
